This invitation sets the tone for a fairytale inspired wedding in Martha's Vineyard with its storybook concept and gorgeous attention to detail. Page by page, the story of the wedding unfolds with personal details incorporated into the design that were significant to the couple (along with a hand-illustrated map complete with all the iconic lighthouses of the area). The cover is foil stamped with a luxurious silver color as a nod back to vintage fairytale book covers.

Sketches

We began the process by creating a few alternate fairytale book cover designs. We also explored different ways of tackling the opening page, from a “mirror on the wall” to more New England inspired elements.

We created a variety of monograms ranging from classic and contemporary options to more thematic fairytale themed options with romantic scroll borders.

Design Extension

We extended our design to all the various pieces in the suite ranging from envelopes to the rsvp postcard which featured a view of a traditional lighthouse.

Map Illustration

The couple were keen on creating a custom watercolor map of Martha’s Vineyard which highlighted some of the iconic lighthouses of the island as well as the wedding locations. The map was painted in jewel tones to match the look and feel of the booklet.

Custom Pattern

The interior of the booklet cover featured a whimsical pattern that incorporated various nautical elements such as ropes, nautical stripes, anchors and ship wheels.

Design Refinement

Once the design was complete, we made sure all details and illustrations were perfect and that the artwork was prepared for the numerous printing and finishing processes.

At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
