Winter Ski Wedding Invitation

We were thrilled when Susan and John came to us looking for invitations for their unique fairytale wedding at a little ski village in Mont Tremblant, Canada. We embarked on the task at hand by hand illustrating the magical little twinkling village in watercolor paints and adorning the design with glittering rich gold foils. The look was completed with a luxe golden compass gatefold wrap that opens up to reveal all the cards within.

The Inspiration

Sketches

We started the process by brainstorming and creating rough sketches. We wanted to capture the magical, fairytale like quality of the village of Mont Tremblant. We explored different ways of showcasing a view of the mountain with various ski lodge and winter inspired elements.

Monograms

We created a range of chic monograms and logos that complemented the suite. We played with elements like snowflakes, compasses and winter icicles, attempting to weave them together with traditional monogram letters.

Cover Designs

We came up with two alternate designs for the invitation cover. Both were inspired by traditional fairytale books, combining fancy lettering with winter illustrations.

The couple were keen on incorporating a view of the village of Mont Tremblant so we created a unique illustration that combined a traditional engraved style superimposed with a whimsical watercolor wash.

Design Extension

Once we settled on an invitation card style, we got to work extending the design to the rest of the pieces on the suite. We incorporated compasses, snowflakes and more winter elements on everything from reply cards to envelopes.

Refinements

After the design process is complete, we make final refinements to the artwork to ensure a successful print process.

Final Design

At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
