Singapore Wedding Invitation

Isabelle & Minseok

This couple commissioned us to create some sweet and colorful watercolor illustrations for their Singapore wedding. We took the task and ran with it, creating a full color coat of arms with Korean mandarin ducks (which symbolize companionship) and even illustrating, their adorable dog, Paprika! The invitation card was presented in a folder which contained all their enclosure cards.

The Inspiration

Sketches

We started the design process by brainstorming a few different ideas for the invitation folder cover and interior. The couple wanted their invitations to feel warm, unique and with whimsical details. We tried incorporating lots of different things, from world maps and hand-drawn crests to a whimsical portrait of them on the cover of the folder.

Monograms

The couple loved the idea of a watercolor painted crest so we sketched out a few different ideas. We settled on the idea of painting Mandarin ducks, a beautiful water bird and a symbol of fidelity and great love in China and Korea.

Illustrations

We created a full range of custom illustrations ranging from floral borders to a portrait of the couple’s dog which we printed on the reply card. Each element was painted in fine watercolor paints.

Map

We included a watercolor map of Singapore as a fun creative way to entice out of town guests. Some of Singapore’s iconic landmarks and hot spots are highlighted on the map.

Details

Every element and detail in the suite is carefully considered. From the cards all the way up to the envelopes, all pieces in the suite featured our hand painted illustrations.
