Monet Garden Wedding Invitation

Tiffany & Andy

For an elegant destination wedding at Beaulieu Garden in Napa Valley, we designed a dreamy, Monet garden inspired invitation filled with beautiful details. The die cut invitation is placed inside an ivory and pearl foil stamped folder and features hand painted views of Beaulieu Garden and Napa Valley on linen, cotton and canvas textured papers. All cards are printed in a combination of letterpress, lilac and pearl foils for a lush and uniquely textural finish.

Sketches

We began the process with some different invitation directions all centering around the idea of a painterly, Monet-esque vineyard wedding. We explored textures such as linen, burlap and even hand dyed ribbon which we envisioned pairing with watercolor printing and foil stamped accents.

Design Development

After selecting a design direction, we refined the invitation design and pieces a little further, bringing our sketches and drawings onto the computer. We also embarked on the process of creating the refined illustrations for the suite.

Illustration

We created a custom watercolor illustration of Beaulieu Garden in a soft rustic style with muted purple colors accented with gold.

Design Extension

Once the look and feel were defined, we embarked on the process of extending the design to all the pieces in the invitation suite. We wanted to the suite to feel coordinated as a whole without being too “matchy matchy” so each item, from reply card to envelopes has different design elements that work harmoniously with the overall design aesthetic.

Details, Details, Details…

Every element and detail in the suite is carefully considered. At the end of the process we hand select all the ink, foil and paper swatches that will be used in the final design.
