Kelsey & Thomas
This laser cut lace wedding invitation suite merges delicate lace motifs with opulent and regal metallics and foils. We were asked to create a bespoke laser cut design inspired by the bride's lace wedding dress which frames each corner of an intricate sleeve. The invitation is printed in a combination of letterpress and gold foil on ivory and metallic mother of pearl papers.
Initial Sketches
We began the process with some different invitation and sleeve directions all centering around the idea of delicate lace and florals in shades of pearl, ivory and champagne gold.
MONOGRAMS
We then presented the couple with a few different takes on a romantic monogram that included various delicate borders that framed the letters, a style that they favored during our consultations and discussions.
Design Extension
After establishing the look and feel for the laser cut lace sleeve, we extended the design to all the various items in the suite from the reply card and enclosure cards, to the envelope. We also explored a few additional approaches to the invitation card by trying out a few ways of applying our design to the corners.
LASER CUT SLEEVE
After the design of the laser cut sleeve is completed, our team then ensures that the artwork is engineered for the laser cutting process. We make sure that every cutout has the proper bridges and support built into the design for it’s structural integrity.
FINAL DESIGN
At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
