Game of Thrones Wedding Invitation

Courtney & Matt

When we were tasked with creating a wedding invitation inspired by the hit series Game of Thrones as well as Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, we decided to create an invitation that would have both dramatic flair and romanticism. The invitation is nested inside of a navy laser cut sleeve hinting at a lush, overgrown forest through which a custom designed coat of arms is revealed. The suite was accented with letterpress and gold foil on all cards and came with a custom designed mini itinerary booklet

Since we are a studio specializing in custom work, we put together custom pricing for each project. For your convenience, below is a brief summary of the starting prices for both our collection and custom suites:

• $2,000 is the starting price for pre-existing designs for a 4-piece suite in 1-letterpress color. Suites with additional embellishments such as foil stamping, laser cut sleeves, pocket folders, etc. start at a higher price point of $3,000 and up.

• Custom invitations start at $2,750 for a 4-piece suite in 1-letterpress color.

• For budgets in the $1,000 range, many of our designs can be adapted to a economical price point using flat printing.

Note: A 4-piece suite includes Invitation, Reply Card, Outer Envelope and Reply Envelope. However a suite can be customized to your needs. Most pre-existing designs you see, whether it be from our custom page or collection page, can be made into a ready to order set

Custom Process

Our custom process is as unique and creative as our finished pieces themselves. Take a look below to see how we brought our client's vision to life.

SKETCHES

We began the process with some different invitation and sleeve directions all centering around the idea of an old world castle with inspiration from William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones

Alternate old world invitation designs

Alongside the invitation, we were also creating artwork for the couple’s destination booklet as well as their very own custom drawn coat of arms. We incorporated a combination of medieval and old world elements such as drop capitals, engraved illustrations and antique motifs throughout the different pieces in the suite.

Laser Cut Sleeves

A thorough look at different color palettes and combinations ensured that we looked at all possibilities, finding the very best of the best for our client’s design.

DESIGN REFINEMENT

Once the look and feel were defined, we embarked on the process of extending the design to all the pieces in the invitation suite. We wanted to the suite to feel coordinated as a whole without being too “matchy matchy” so each item, from reply card to envelopes has different design elements that work harmoniously with the overall design aesthetic.

At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
