We brought to life the vision and inspiration of this couple's Florence destination wedding with a truly one of a kind accordion invitation. Custom hand-marbled papers were created specially for this couple and imported from Asia while custom illustrations, Arabic hand-calligraphy and sumptuous letterpress printing breathe luxury into every surface and detail.

The Inspiration

Brainstorming

We started the process by brainstorming some different directions and how we could incorporate elements of Florence into the invitation suite. The wedding color palette was coral and turquoise which we also kept in mind for our first sketches.

Design Concepts

The next step was refining our concepts into more concrete designs. We looked to the architecture, art and textures of Florence for inspiration. We also explored materials like hand dyed silk ribbon, marbled papers, wax seals, die cut shapes and more to further entice guests to come on this journey to Tuscany.

Monograms

We created a range of monograms that were all inspired by various elements of Tuscany, from Italian tiles and arches to landmarks like the famous Duomo.

Design Extension

Once the client decided on a design direction, we explored a few alternate color schemes. We also extended our design onto the invitation envelopes, incorporating some of our favorite creative elements from the initial sketches.

Wax Seal

A wax seal was a perfect way of weaving in some old world charm into the design. We incorporated a monogram into a turquoise blue wax seal which was then applied to the cover of the invitation booklet.

Final Design

At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
