Florence Italy Watercolor Wedding Invitation

For a magnificent destination wedding in Florence, Italy, we were asked by our couple to create several hand painted watercolor motifs ranging from the iconic Florence Skyline and Tuscan olive bundles to their wedding venue, Villa Cora. The invitation card is printed with plush letterpress and shimmery gold foil on ivory paper and adorned with a Florentine inspired crest with the couple's monogram on the top. The envelope liner is also a work of art unto itself with sprawling views of the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. Last but not least, the whole suite is finished with an elegant antique gold wax seal closure.

DESIGN EXPLORATORY

The invitation was designed to be simple and elegant and a good base for us to layer our inspired watercolor elements around. We looked mainly at different font options and monogram options to determine the right balance to strike between historical, ornamental and timeless.

ILLUSTRATION

Once our sketch of the wedding venue was approved, we painted the final piece with watercolor paints in vivid greens and deep earth tones.

FINAL DESIGN

At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
