Fashion Week Inspired Invitations

With summer transitioning into fall, New York Fashion Week is upon us again! Every year I look forward to the shows as the designers introduce their new Spring collections for the world to see. It’s such an inspiring spectacle to behold for artists and designers of all disciplines as we’ll all soon see these trends trickle down to the worlds of interiors, product design, graphic design and beyond! This week I’d like to highlight some of my favorite looks from this week’s shows and share some of our most fashion forward invitation designs. We even put together selections for you to be able to wear the look and bring in a bit of fashion week flair into your wardrobe and accessories!

One of the most sophisticated color pairings in my opinion is blue and white. You see it everywhere from blue and white China to French fabrics and the result is always sophisticated and memorable. I’m delighted to see many designers adopt this gorgeous combination. We recently designed an invitation suite which had this color motif that we painted in watercolors.

I’ve always had a particular affinity for dramatic fashion statements so seeing many designers embrace maximalism (think the opposite of minimalism) and combining patterns, textures and precious metals has gotten me inspired and excited! When we designed a fashion week inspired invitation suite for our stylish clients Inez and Larry, I decided to bring in all of this inspiration to really elevate their invitations into something truly runway ready!

Last but certainly not least, one of my favorite continuing trends is all things gilded and ornamental! This week, I’ve seen stunning dresses by the likes of Zac Posen and Monique Lhuillier which are sure to take your breath away! Similarly, at Atelier Isabey, we love all things opulent and reminiscent of another time and age. The gilded lace invitations below do just that and set forth a regal tone while still remaining elegant and delicate. The perfect blend!
