Ellis Island Wedding

A visitor never forgets their first encounter with the world famous landmark (and UNESCO heritage site), the statue of liberty. Taking a ferry and catching a glimpse of the statue’s majestic presence always draws gasps of wonder and amazement from tourists and New York locals alike. But standing next to Liberty Island is a monument and historical landmark that has shaped the very foundation of the United States of America. Ellis Island is not only a special place for the millions of people it welcomed from the far reaches of the world but it also is a solemn and awe-inspiring place to visit. When our clients Allison and David decided to make this their wedding venue, we were so excited of the many ways we could incorporate the unique story and their own design inspirations into a wedding suite. We designed a save the date card that drew inspiration from an old ferry ticket to invitations that had a hand watercolor painted map of Manhattan, highlighting different locations that were meaningful to them both. The design was taken to the next level in the hands of wedding planner and designer extraordinaire, Maya Kalman of Swank Productions. We were delighted to see how every element and detail was captured in vivid color by 5th Avenue Digital.
