Spring 2014 Bridal Market Illustrated

As you may know, Bridal Market took place a week ago. The event always generates so much excitement with designers showcasing their new collections, trends and announcing the next wave in wedding fashion. It’s no surprise that fashion, and wedding dresses in particular, inspire so many areas of a couple’s wedding. From the dramatic flair of color that can inspire the lighting at the ceremony to the beautiful lace details in a beautiful bodice that can be translated onto stationery, linens and decor alike, bridal market inspires more than just a bride. It influences a whole industry.

This year, I was so  inspired by some of the looks that I wasted no time putting pen (or brush) to paper and letting my imagination take me where it wanted. I’ve been very inspired lately by fashion illustrations by the likes of Gruau, Erté, and more recently Katie Rodgers (whom I recently took a class with!). You know what they say, the second you stop learning is the second that you stop being passionate about what you do. With that said, I took paint, sequins and glitter to paper, illustrating the looks of industry heavyweights Reem Acra and Vera Wang to some truly inspired pieces by the likes of Maggie Sottero, Angel Sanchez and Hayley Paige. I hope you enjoy!
